Our Music

Solway Singers sing a wide variety of music, both sacred and secular and over recent years our repertoire has represented English composers from the sixteenth century to the present day and included music by Byrd, Elgar, Finzi, Britten, Rutter and Chilcott, to name only a few. Our programmes have also included much music from French, Italian, German, American and Scandinavian composers. We have sung sacred masses, Scottish song arrangements, German love songs, oratorios, English part-songs, hymns, folksong arrangements, evensongs and American comedy songs; and we have performed in churches, cathedrals, village halls, marquees and country houses to audiences large and small throughout northwest England and southwest Scotland.

More information on our programmes can be found on the ‘History’ page, but, as you can see, we are a busy and interesting group.
